Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your information.
Last updated: June 18, 2026
W.M. Blain Well Drilling & Pump, Inc. ("W.M. Blain," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It applies to our website and to the information you give us when you contact us or hire us for well drilling, pump, or water-system work.
1. About This Policy
This Policy covers personal information we collect through our website (wmblainwelldrillingandpump.com), by phone, by email, and in the course of providing our services across Northern Nevada and Northeastern California. By using our website or engaging our services, you agree to the practices described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or submit information to us.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide Directly
When you request a free estimate, schedule service, or contact us, you may give us your name, phone number, email address, the property address or service area where work is needed, and details about your well, pump, water system, and the problem you're experiencing. If you email or call us, we keep a record of that correspondence.
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, ours automatically records technical information when you visit — your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring website, the pages you view, and the dates and times of your visits — using cookies and similar technologies (see Section 7).
2.3 Information From Third Parties
We may receive information about you from third parties such as our analytics provider, online review and map platforms (for example, Google or Yelp) when you interact with our listings, and referral sources who pass along your request for service.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To respond to inquiries, prepare estimates, and schedule and perform well drilling, pump, and water-system services;
- To communicate with you about your project, appointments, invoices, warranties, and follow-up service;
- To operate, maintain, secure, and improve our website and services;
- To keep records required of a licensed contractor, including well logs and reports;
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse and to comply with our legal obligations.
4. Information Sharing
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only as needed with: service providers who help us run our business and website (such as our website host, analytics provider, and scheduling or invoicing tools); professional advisors (accountants, insurers, attorneys); and authorities or others when required by law or to protect the safety, rights, or property of W.M. Blain, our customers, or the public. If our business is ever transferred or sold, customer information may transfer as part of that transaction.
5. Third-Party Services
Our website relies on third-party services that have their own privacy policies, including our analytics provider and embedded maps. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties, and we encourage you to review their policies.
6. Cookies and Tracking
6.1 Types of Cookies We Use
We use strictly necessary cookies (required for the site to function), and analytics cookies that help us understand, in aggregate, how visitors use the site so we can improve it. We do not use our cookies to sell your information.
6.2 Managing Cookies
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling some cookies may affect how parts of the site function. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
7. Data Retention
We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy — for example, to complete your project, honor warranties, maintain business and tax records, and meet legal requirements. Records a licensed driller must file or retain (such as well logs) are kept as required by law.
8. Data Security
We take reasonable administrative, technical, and physical measures to protect the information we collect. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or method of electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to request correction or deletion, and to opt out of certain uses. We will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.
How to Exercise Your Rights
To make a request, contact us using the information in Section 14. We may need to verify your identity before acting on your request, and we will respond within the time required by applicable law.
10. Nevada & California Resident Rights
10.1 Nevada Residents (NRS 603A)
Nevada law lets Nevada consumers direct certain website operators not to sell their covered personal information. We do not sell your personal information. You may still submit a verified opt-out request by contacting us.
10.2 California Residents (CCPA/CPRA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know the categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information. We do not sell or share your personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
10.3 Authorized Agents
You may use an authorized agent to submit a rights request on your behalf. We may require proof of the agent's authorization and verification of your identity.
11. Do Not Track Signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) setting. There is no common industry standard for responding to DNT signals, and our website does not currently respond to them differently. We do not track you across third-party websites for advertising.
12. Children's Privacy
Our website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be reflected on this page; your continued use of the website after changes means you accept the updated Policy.
